The Role
We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented Deputy CTO, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), to partner closely with our founding executive team. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between high-level technological strategy and day-to-day engineering execution. You will play a crucial part in scaling our engineering organization, evolving the architecture of our vendor-agnostic platform, and advancing the capabilities of CARA to ensure we maintain our technical superiority.
You will also serve as a highly visible technical evangelist. Whether you are speaking with a Fortune 500 CISO alongside our Regional Sales Directors, enabling a massive MSSP with our VP of Channel Sales, or speaking at industry conferences, you will be the authoritative voice on why StrikeReady’s holistic approach fundamentally outperforms fragmented, agentic AI competitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Vision & Architecture: Partner with the CTO to define and execute the long-term technology roadmap. Ensure the StrikeReady platform remains scalable, secure, and infinitely integrable with the ever-expanding cybersecurity vendor ecosystem.
- Engineering Leadership: Drive operational excellence within the engineering and data science teams. Implement best practices for agile development, CI/CD, and quality assurance as the team scales rapidly post-Series A.
- AI & Product Innovation: Spearhead the continuous evolution of CARA. Push the boundaries of LLMs, machine learning, and automation in cybersecurity to outpace specialized competitors like Dropzone AI, 7AI, Prophet AI, and Blink Ops.
- Technical Evangelism & Executive Sponsoring: Act as the primary technical sponsor for top-tier enterprise deals and strategic channel partnerships. Translate complex AI and architectural concepts into compelling business value for technical buyers (CISOs, SOC Directors, Chief Architects).
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the critical bridge between Engineering, Product Management, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, ensuring that our technical deliverables directly map to market demands and revenue goals.
- Talent Acquisition & Mentorship: Attract, recruit, and retain world-class engineering and AI talent. Foster a culture of innovation, extreme ownership, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of Cyber Security software and architecture experience, with at least 5+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
- Domain Expertise: Deep, authoritative knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape, specifically within Security Operations (SOC), SIEM, SOAR, Threat Intelligence, and Incident Response.
- AI/ML Proficiency: Strong practical understanding of modern artificial intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), machine learning pipelines, and data engineering. You know how to build real, scalable AI products, not just wrappers.
- Startup DNA: Proven experience helping scale engineering teams at high-growth, venture-backed startups (Series A through C). You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment.
- Communication Skills: Elite verbal and written communication skills. You can debate architectural nuances with a lead engineer in the morning and confidently pitch a C-level executive in the afternoon.
- Leadership Style: A servant leader who leads by example, removes roadblocks, and empowers teams to execute at their highest potential without micromanaging.
